RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 Explained

This Tech Tip is a bit more technical in nature and generally not applicable to home-users.

Change Desktop Background Image

So very often when working on computers, I notice that the same factory default background is present, years after the client has been using the machine. In this video I demonstrate how to change your windows background and how to create your own custom background slide show in just a few easy clicks.

How to Zip and Unzip files

Zipping is the process of taking multiple files, compressing them, and adding them to a single file (aka archive).

Benefits of Zipping include

  • Faster Sending
  • Faster Receiving
  • Reduced Storage Space
  • Convenience (i.e. I like to download all the files emailed to me at once, rather than save each one individually…)

IMAP Synchronize Email

What is IMAP?
How do I synchronize my mail?

We live in the day of multiple devices accessing a single email account. We use our computer, smart phones, sometimes even a laptop all to get to the same account. Yet many of us are setup with the wrong type of mail system for that, and can be using something better: IMAP.

Instead of POP mail, using IMAP allows us to synchronize all of our devices, so messages deleted from the computer are automatically deleted from the phone.
